WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , --------------------------------------------------------------------- Waking up to a quite noisy alarm, Seamus was disoriented for a few minutes before he remembered that today was the day he had promised to go visit Hogsmeade to meet up with a few of the Dumbledore's Army students. He also had the day off from work and would have to be careful that no death eaters or supporters would spot him. He had lasted this long without his cover being blown and he'd like to continue on. It made him feel useful and helped to push the doubt that now that Harry was dead, You-Know-Who would never be conquered. As Seamus rolled out of bed, he pushed those thoughts away. His job today was simple. Get in contact with a few order supporters and see where they stood and cheer up anybody who needed it. Which a lot of people these days seemed to need. Seamus saw it as his personal job to try and make anybody and everybody that was trying to vanquish You-Know-Who, a good happy hour or so. Even if Seamus, himself needed some cheering up sometimes. But today wasn't that kind of day.
Running his hand through his hair, as he yawned, Seamus walked over to the small closet. Looking inside, he grabbed clothes at random, his golden Celtic cross gleaming on his bare chest.Slipping into the darker jeans, Seamus pulled them up, making sure to zipper and button them. Looking around for a belt in the mess, Seamus shrugged and walked over to his night stand where he always put his wand in reach. Picking it up, Seamus muttered, " Accio belt." Catching the simple belt that came flying towards him, he threaded it through the loops, making sure it was secure once he finished. Grabbing a long sleeved shirt that he had thrown on a chair, he held it to his face and smelled it. It didn't smell bad and so he assumed he hadn't worn it. Slipping into it, Seamus next grabbed some socks from the bottom of his closet. Sitting on his bed, he slid them on easily, standing up quickly. Reaching towards the back of his closet, he found a simple gray sweater and threw it on his bed, where it landed noiselessly. Next came a black hat that had been sitting on the only shelf in the small closet. Throwing it on the bed, he closed the door gently. Stepping on all of the clothes on the floor, Seamus thought idly, I should really do laundry sometime soon or I'll run out of clothes as well as robes. Dismissing the thought to worry about it later, Seamus walked over to the bed but on his way stubbed his toe on something. Quickly he grabbed his left foot, hopping around in circles, swearing as the pain bloomed. Finally through his knowledge of swear words, Seamus placed his foot gingerly on the floor and walked slowly over to the bed. Grabbing the sweater and hat, he stuffed his wand in his back pocket for the moment to retrieve his watch. Sliding open a minuscule drawer in the night stand, Seamus picked up the simple watch, placing it on his right wrist and making sure it was nice and tight. Stuffing the hat roughly on his head, he made sure that it didn't cover his eyes. Walking out of his green bedroom, he started towards the kitchen before remembering he had run out of eatable food last night. Grabbing some of the muggle money he always kept on hand from a bowl by the door, Seamus also grabbed his keys. He also grabbed some spare wizard money that he had left on the table that held the bowl. As he unlocked the door with one hand, he slipped his other arm into the sweater. Opening the door, he finished putting his sweater on and stepped out onto the third level of an apartment building. Putting his other arm in the empty sleeve, Seamus turned, closing the door but opening it quickly once more. Running to his room, he grabbed a pair of sunglasses from the top of his closet and placed them in his sweater pocket.
Running back out, he checked to make sure he still had his wand, also making sure it was covered by his sweater. Closing the door, this time for the next few hours, Seamus locked it making sure it was locked before turning and heading down the stairs. Stepping out into the bright sunlight, Seamus placed his sunglasses carefully on his nose, before stuffing his hands into his pockets. It was November now and the weather had turned quite chilly. Looking at all of the small shops on the muggle street, Seamus found his favorite within minutes. Walking in, he slipped off his sunglasses and went to the cash. Smiling, he ordered his usual. A cinnamon bun and coffee. Handing the cashier the money, he stepped out of line to wait patiently. It didn't take long, which was one of Seamus' favorite things about it. Grabbing a napkin, he wrapped it around his coffee, and found an empty table, making quick work of the cinnamon bun. Sipping slowly from the coffee, he once more stepped out into the chilly morning air but this time the coffee slowly warmed him up. Walking down the street, he looked curiously at the many shops. Seamus continued on, slowly, waiting until his coffee was finished and thrown out before finding an abandoned alley. Looking around carefully, he spotted no familiar faces. Walking quickly down the alley, Seamus went into the shadows and quickly turned, imagining his destination, the Shrieking Shack. His chest quickly felt compressed, and he felt a little disoriented. Once he landed, he took a huge breath of the chilly air, which seared his lungs. Looking around, he made sure that once more no familiar faces were nearby, before checking he still had his wand, now placed in his sweater pocket and slid his sunglasses back on.
Walking quickly, Seamus warmed up but he was still glad when he saw the buildings of Hogsmeade approach. He knew this weekend was the one the third years and above were allowed to visit and so he looked around at the faces. Spotting new ones and faces that he had known well. Remembering exactly where his destination was, he pushed open the door to the Three Broomsticks. A wave of heat and many different conversations hit him as he walked in. Dodging through the crowd, Seamus waited in line to order. Making it to the front he ordered a butterbeer. After all, he didn't need to get drunk and tried to avoid it at all costs, especially since he became a double agent. Paying with his wizard money, he walked down the bar a bit and turned around, leaning on the bar as he scanned the crowded tables. Spotting one in the back that was in shadow, he walked determindly towards it, occasionally sipping at his butterbeer. Sliding into the booth, he sat with his face towards the door. Watching it open and close, he kept a close eye on the students pouring in. Seeing a familiar female red head, Seamus grinned, bringing his hand up and waving, hoping that she had seen the gesture. Taking a small sip of his butterbeer, he sat and waited. For the red head was in fact Ginny and Seamus could bet that she would need some cheering up, especially considering she had lost both one of her brothers and Harry, who she had been dating and he thought had actually loved.

If there was one thing, Ginny loved about Hogsmeade it was the butterbeer. It was becoming a slight addiction to her. Therefore every third month when there was a Hogsmeade, she had to go to The Three Broomsticks to have at least one butterbeer. Maybe two. If she had more than two, she would get a bit tipsy, so that wasn't a good idea. It was the second weekend of November and she had had time to spend with her friends and it was great, but this Satuday she was heading to The Three Broomsticks alone. Ginny had been looking forward to this very weekend. Well, Hogsmeade was always fun, but today was something special. She kept telling herself that meeting up with Seamus Finnigan was something special. He had been in Ron and Hermione's year. Plus he had been best friends with Dean Thomas. It made it a bit awkward. Ginny had no idea if they still were best friends anymore or if they even were friends? Besides it didn't mattered to Ginny - Dean was one person and Seamus was another. So she didn't thought about it too much.
Today was one of the better days though. She was happy and for the first time in a long time there was a permanent smile on her lips. Just because her friend, Melissa had acted like a total goofball while they had their breakfast. But Ginny was glad and nothing could ruin her mood today. When she woke up, she found some muggle clothes in her trunk. She wasn't going to wear robes to Hogsmeade, that would just be silly. Ginny entered the pub and it was crowded like usually. A smile crept upon her lips and she headed to the counter and ordered the famous butterbeer. She was going to meet Seamus Finnigan in here and she had seen him as soon as she stepped in. He had waved at her and now he was waiting for her. Ginny got her butterbeer and paid the waiter, and tried to walk through the crowd over towards the table Seamus had.
Ginny smiled, took of her coat, her mittens and her hat as she sat down. "You haven't waited long, I hope?" She asked with a smile before taking a sip of the butterbeer. Ah, the taste made her throat go crazy and she felt relaxed already.

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , --------------------------------------------------------------------- Seamus smiled as Ginny walked over. She seemed happy already and he was glad for her. He didn't know specifically what she had felt when Harry had died and he wouldn't pretend to, not even after losing a parent. Those were two different situations altogether. As she sat and took a drink of butterbeer, Seamus set his down for a minute. He answered her question quickly and a little jokingly,"Na, not too long but only because I had to make sure I wasn't followed. You know how popular I am these days." Laughing slightly he said, " I see someone took my job. Who may I ask did so? Just so I know who the competition is." Grinning, he lifted his butterbeer and took a large drink. Setting it down one more, Seamus asked curiously, " So, how's things up at school? I never thought I'd say this but I actually miss it. Especially the carefree days by the lake and yelling at quidditch matches." His eyes got a little unfocused as he remembered some of the laughs he had had at Hogwarts. The good far outweighed the bad and even in his seventh year when he had been so bruised, he was unrecognizable, he had loved helping the rebellion. But that brought memories of the war too close. Shaking his head gently, he took another drink of butterbeer, before slipping out of his sweater. He had gotten a little too warm and it had quickly turned from comfortable to uncomfortable. Leaving his hat on, so no one could see his hair to identify him, he crossed his arms on the table.
All the tension he had felt earlier when making sure not to be followed had dissolved in the warm air, butterbeer and especially Ginny's quite enjoyable presence. It made him feel less need/want to cheer up into a more relaxed two-sided cheering up. It always felt good to have less to do. And bieng a double agent was stressful but it made him feel at least a little important and helpful. " Besides school, how's life been? I haven't really talked to you for a while and you know I like to talk a lot or more like joke around." Pausing slightly, he thought about asking about any new lads, but figured that that would be a little insensitive and so let it be.

These days there weren't many people hat could make her laugh. It was her friends, the girls from Gryffindor. But nearly no boys. Other than Seamus. He could always make her laugh. So of coruse, his first comment amused her and a small giggle escaped her lips. Then he said something else and that made her smile too. "Are you sure you want to know? It could be dangerous, you know. But I trust you. Her name is Melissa. She is from my year." After she said it, she started laughing again. She was surprised that she was in this kind of mood - maybe it was just a really good day. At least she hoped it would last.
Ginny noticed that he would probably finish his butterbeer before her - he had been there before her, and she saw that he took larger sips. Ginny had been told that alcohol didn't hit boys as much as it hit girls. So he could have lots more before he was getting tipsy. But back to reality. Seamus asked her things and she needed to answer them. Anything else wouldn't be nice at all. And she liked Seamus; as a friend. For now. She had no idea how she might feel in a week or a month. But he was a great friend right now. And he was there when she needed to talk.
"If you still were a student now.. You wouldn't miss it. McGonagall is the only teacher you would know who is back. All the others are Death Eaters. And speaking of quidditch.. Guess who made qudditch captain!" She said and he had to be bloody deaf if he couldn't hear the proud-ness in her voice. It was pretty big for her - she had never really accomplished anything, and quidditch was her passion. It made her forget all the sad things around her. Ginny smiled at him and took another sip of her butterbeer.
Then he asked how life was - that was a pretty big question. At first she had no idea how to even answer it. But after about a minute of silence, she knew what to say. "Life's been pretty good. I think that I started to move on. Slowly, but still it feels like moving on. And I think I'm ready to love again." She said truthfully and downed her butterbeer. She hadn't told this to anyone, not even Melissa.

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Laughing quietly, Seamus let his thoughts wonder. That's not the dangerous part. The dangerous part is pretending to be a death eater. But it is helpful and a needed part of the war so bring it on. Smirking slightly before smiling, Seamus lightly said, " Well, I'm going to have to find this Melissa and give her a good talking to." Seamus was having fun and his day off was turning out great. He loved bieng in Ginny's company. He kept thinking that she was nice, and a good laugh when she was in a good mood. But when she was in a bad mood, he always wanted to cheer her up and it wasn't just because he saw it as his job. He took special delight in making Ginny laugh. But he credited that to the fact that Harry died, and that's why he tried so hard and enjoyed it so immensely.
Seamus grimaced at the death eaters for teachers. He had had that rather painful experience and wasn't keen to repeat it. His grimace turned quickly into a grin as he heard the pride in Ginny's voice when she asked him to guess who made quidditch captain. Pretending to think hard, Seamus slowly said, "Hmmmm........Ummmm, let me take a guess....McGonagall?" Laughing at the thought of McGonnagall on a broom, Seamus almost choked on some of his butterbeer. Once he got his breath back, he congratulated her. "Awesome! Wish I was still at Hogwarts just to see that." Putting his hand up for a high five, he returned it to the table top afterward. Seamus didn't let himself forget the fact that they're were death eaters at Hogwarts and the extremely painful punishments they always chose.
Nodding at Ginny's statement, Seamus was glad that she had started to move on. But he needed to know one thing."That is wonderful and I'm really proud of you," He hesitated before looking around carefully, leaning in and whispering, " They're not doing the same punishments they did last time , are they?" Seamus felt protective over Ginny and he felt sure that if he heard that they were, he would march straight up to the school and screw his job as a double agent.

Ginny smirked slightly as he said that. "Actually I bet she would like that. She likes Irish guys." Ginny said with a giggle and shook her head. That wasn't a full lie, but still funny. Ginny found it important to have some friends that could make you laugh, and one of them were Seamus. He was great and in fact he had a better sense of humor than Harry did. But okay, Harry had a lot of things to take care of, and it ended with his death, so it wasn't funny at all. But Harry wasn't here now and he wouldn't come back, so Ginny tried to live as much as possible without thinking about him. It was painful that he died, but it had been over a year and even though she never thought she would say this out loud, she was ready to love and maybe even to date again. Maybe with Seamus, Ginny couldn't help but smile at the thought. She didn't wanted to end up as an old maid never married. And Seamus was kind of cute.
And he had the same sense of humor as she did, so that was another plus. "You guessed it! McGonagall is a great quidditch captain!" Ginny said and laughed. "Thanks! It feels wonderful! It's the only thing I truly love back at Hogwarts. Before.. before the battle I even loved the classes, but a lot of things changed. Quidditch is my thing! After I graduate, I might try out for Holyhead Harpies, you know the all-girls team?" Ginny said with a bright smile and nodded and finished her butterbeer, The thought made her smile.
Ginny couldn't help but blush, when he said he was proud of her. It was easily seen on her pale skin, so the rosa color was pretty obvious on her cheeks. After that he asked about the punishments. "Well.. Detention is pretty okay now. You just sit in a classroom, looking. And if you behave really bad they might give you a slap in the face. Nothing worse than that. I mean, they already won, so they cooled a bit of now." Ginny said with a small smile. She had small cuts on her face and hands, but that was nothing serious.

"Of course she does, Everyone loves the accent." Seamus grinned. Most people did seem to fall for the accent. Hearing that Ginny thought of trying out for the Holywood Harpies, he grinned back at her, finishing off his butterbeer before speaking. " You'd be great on the Holywood Harpies." And it was the truth. The girl could fly. Even if she wasn't playing chaser she did a really good job.
Seamus spotted flushed skin before he turned away until she answered his question about detention. He then focused solely on her eyes, listening solemnly. "Well.. Detention is pretty okay now. You just sit in a classroom, looking. And if you behave really bad they might give you a slap in the face. Nothing worse than that. I mean, they already won, so they cooled a bit of now."
Sighing slightly in relief, Seamus once more smiled happily. " That's great. So I never asked, What postion are you playing? Chaser or Seeker?" He looked at her curiously. As he had already said she played both positions almost perfectly. As he looked down at the table, he saw Ginny's hands had small cuts. Looking up to her face he realized the same held true for it. " Let me guess, you've become a troublemaker as well?" Seamus said, a little worried. If she kept this up it might not be long until they wrote her off as too much trouble and we all know that too much trouble can be easily cured. " I'm not saying stop whatever you're doing but for merlin's sake be careful. Thats all your family needs right now." He said it unthinkingly and froze, unsure if he had said something he shouldn't have. He sat there frozen until he knew her reaction and if he was the biggest jerk ever. But he did say something before staying still once more. " I'm really sorry. I wasn't thinking." Seamus knew that that was the most horrible excuse ever but it was the truth and that was all he could do.
