Morgan Gin was holding her team's usual Quidditch practice at the pitch on a Saturday afternoon. It was a cool day, but warm for November, and Morgan had on jeans and a long sleeve shirt underneath her Quidditch robes. She was the captain of Slytherin's Quidditch team as of that summer, and she had so far lived up to the honor- her team was on top, but it had yet to play the toughest competition of the year. Still, she was certain that toppling Gryffindor wouldn't be that hard- her team was in great shape, even though the season had only only just begun two months previously.
"Come on, Randy!" She called to her beater, making a face as he missed an easy shot at he bludger. "That was weak!"
Her Firebolt, a gift from her brother, raised up into the sky at the slightest of kickoffs, and she flew over to him, taking his bat. "You're supposed to do it like this." She swung the bat in an arch at the empty sky, then handed it back. "Don't be afraid of the thing, you're the only protection the rest of us have against the bludgers."
She nodded for the rest of the team to begin their faux match, floating until she was only five or so feet off the ground. She was watching for obvious weaknesses, things she could correct...
Almost out of nowhere, she started to feel dizzy, and she swayed on her broom, falling backwards...
"I understand." Her mother's voice said gently. "Do it."
A dark shape, her brother's silhouette that she would know anywhere, raised his wand.
"Avada Ked-"
"MORGAN!"
Her eyes flew open, and she stared up at the concerned face of her teammates, and she blinked a few times. "Are you all right?" Someone asked, and she nodded, sitting up. Her broom was on the grass next to her, and she rubbed her eyes.
"Yeah, I didn't have breakfast today." She said quietly, downplaying it. "Got a little dizzy. Listen, I'm going to go get something for my head. Keep practicing without me." She gave them a smile, hoping that no one thought more of her little display than her feeble excuse. She didn't want this getting back to Andrew.
She got to her feet, and when her teammates finally decided she really could walk and appeared to be fine, she picked up her broom and headed into the castle, turning to go down the stairs to go to her common room.
How embarrassing, to pass out for no reason. Sadly, it was starting to get more common than she wanted it to.

Andrew sighed as he walked back to his desk from the window. He had been watching his sister practice for a bit. After all grading papers was quite a tiring process due to how boring it was. Besides almost everyone was failing with the select few who actually understood the art of brewing potions. He sometimes wondered why he even bothered trying to explain what the difference one oz could make to a brew. After all it could be the defining factor to life and death. Yes, charms, DADA and transfiguration were more interesting to those with low attention spans. But Andrew considered potions to be one of the strongest forms of magic.
Sighing he stood with both hands on either side of the folder in witch a large pile of parchment lay. He could have these done by tonight and then having nothing else to grade for the next day or two. But that would cause some boredom. Perhaps a small walk over to the common room, or out to the quidditch pitch to see his sister. Nodding at the thought he picked up the folder and held it in his hand before taking out his wand and giving a little flick. All of his quills, papers, and other such things on his desk straightened themselves out along with his chair rolling itself underneath the desk. Happy with how it looked he locked the door and threw a spell over it just incase some one decided to try and enter while he was out.
Just as he was about to start walking he saw Morgan walking his way towards what seemed to be the common room. It was strange, he was sure that practice wasn't already over with. Perhaps she was going easy on them. It didn't quite matter to him. He figured his house wouldn't fail to prove him proud.
"Morgan, practice over already?" He asked. His voice in a soft and caring matter that only really showed itself when his sister was around. After all, he felt best when she was around him. Perhaps that was why he had agreed to take the position as potion's teacher at Hogwarts. To be able to spend some more time with her. He knew that a few of the other teachers were also positioned here as well. To prepare it for the next phase. Or so he was told.

Morgan jumped slightly and whirled around to stare at her brother, the look on her face as if she had been caught doing something bad. "You scared me." She said, frowning. She didn't sound angry about it, it was incredibly hard for her to stay mad at her brother. "They're practicing without me." Morgan said, falling into step next to him. She had to offer him some semblance of the truth, or else it would be impossible to cover her tracks later if someone decided to talk about her little "issue" on the field. "I'm not feeling well. I figured I'd go curl up in front of the fire and finish my essay." She shrugged, offering him a pretty smile. Morgan had learned long ago that she could get what she wanted from any male with the right kind of smile, and she wasn't afraid to abuse that ability at whim. She stuck her hands into her pockets, making a slight face. "And before you get all overprotective and stuff, I'm fine." She stressed. "I just didn't sleep well last night." As much as Morgan loved her brother, his constant need to protect her from seemingly everything grated on her nerves on occasion. She knew if she claimed to be feeling too sick, he would lock her in the hospital wing for a month, which certainly wasn't conducive to any social plans she had. "So what are you doing out here, anyway?" She asked curiously. "Don't you have papers to grade?" She knew that the rumor about why she got such good marks in potions was because her brother skewed her grades for her, but the truth was, she didn't need him to. She had talent for potions, and Andrew had been the one to teach her even before she went off to school, patiently correcting her when she made mistakes. She wasn't as good as him at it- her best subject was arithmancy- but she wasn't bad, either. outfit: www.polyvore.com/morganafterquidditch/set?id=23122864

Andrew raised an eyebrow at her before shaking his head. A small smirk on his face. She always gave it away with how her faced looked. Or so he thought. Walking up to here he placed his free hand on her head messing her hair a little. "Thats my job isn't? Making your life hell by scaring you. At least thats what I hear older brothers do." he said with a small smile as the two of them feel in step with each other.
She informed him that she wasn't feeling good and was letting them practice with out him. It must had shown on his face that he was worried and before he could say anything she called him overprotective, and she was fine. He let out a small sigh before opening his mouth. He wouldn't press the matter further. He had a feeling that in Morgan's older age she was getting tired of him trying to protect her. If only she truly knew what he was protecting her from. What type of life he had to live to keep here from doing the same.
He rolled his neck letting it crack before answering her question about grading papers. "You know, I have a life too? Anyways, I'm almost done. I figured i'd take a break and go watch practice, but seeing as you already left, I'd much rather go and talk with you. If that was ok with you of course. Don't wanna ruin any plans." He said sarcastically.
He wondered how she handled it. Having not only her younger cousin Avery in her house, but her older brother as potions master and Head of house. It would of amazed him if they didn't have another family member in there as well. With how big the Heightington family had been. "So what class is the essay for?" He asked as they turned the corner to the entrance of the Slytherin common room. He muttered the Password and waited for her to enter.

Morgan shrunk away from his hand, raising her arms above her head. "You're very good at it." She deadpanned, swatting at him. "Now stop it!" She made a face, sticking out her tongue. Morgan was always conscious of how she looked, and she really hated it when people messed up her hair- even if she had just come from Quidditch.
She was surprised that he didn't put up much of a fight, which was most unusual. Her brother was infamous from trying to protect her from everything, and while she knew he did it out of love, it could still be incredibly annoying.
"Do you?" She broke into a dazzling grin, her eyes lighting up with mischief. "You see, I'm not sure that you do." She joked, trying to hide her smirk. "I think you live vicariously through me. And I think," She said with a wink, "I will let you."
"Hm?" She asked, heading into the portrait hole when he held the door open for her. She went and flopped down in her favorite spot, crossing her legs and looking up at him. The common room was bare, other than two first years in the corner. "Oh, it's for Transfiguration." She shrugged. "Want to do it for me?" Morgan joked, tilting her head and giving him her best puppy look.

He shook his head with a grin as his sister talked about how he was living through her. Letting out a small chuckle. "Well in that case, I'm and by I'm i mean you, am going to go swim in the lake. Naked." He said with a grin before following her in and taking a seat nearby.
The two of them were close but he felt that perhaps the two of them were growing apart now that she was growing up. Was this how it felt to be a parent letting their son's and daughters go out into the world? If so he now knew why so many tried to hold on for as long as they could. Looking around their wasn't much going on. After all most were out with friends or in class at this time.
"Hello." He said with a smile towards the two first years in the corner. He remembered his own time's during his tour at Hogwarts, how he had made his way through the years with only a few friends. Spending most of his time studying and bettering himself as a wizard then socializing. Now he was the head of house for Slytherin and the Potions master. He couldn't help but smile at the thought of him having to be the counsel young ones about what had been happening in the world.
Looking over to his sister he smiled and said. "Ehh, no. Besides I didn't much care for that class. Not much use if you asked me. Look I can make a flower into a bumble-bee." He said with a small smile. He looked around and saw the fire was off and it was a bit chill. Standing up he started working on it building a fire for the day.
