The cold, oh how Andrew hated the cold. It was oh so very annoying. His sister seemed to enjoy it for some reason. Placing his hands in his robe pockets he hugged it close to his body. Not truly going anywhere. He just needed to get away, away from the doom and the gloom of the castle and his life. Perhaps a few drinks would calm his nerves.
He stood out side the tavern and looked up at the sign. A hogs head sat here. He wondered why they decided to use this as their name. A breeze passed by sending a shiver though Andrew's body. "Ahh, who cares its to cold." He muttered to himself before going inside. The Temperature change was a great welcome as he closed the door. Looking around he noticed no one was at the bar but most of the tables were full with one or more person. So he made his way over and took off his robe and placed it on the stool before sitting himself on top of it. "One fire whiskey."
Andrew never drank, well rarely. It was due to the fact that secrets were split, and other things could take control of him if he got carried away and drank to much. So just one or two he told himself. That was all he would have to day. The bartender came back and placed his drink in front of him. He took it and sipped a bit from the top. A small smile on his lips. Just then the door opened and a small gust of wind rushed in along with someone else.

Riley fled the castle as soon as her last class of the day ended. She cared deeply for her students but some days they just got to her. Didn’t they realize that everything wasn’t sunshine and daisies? She thought angrily as she exited the castle and started on the semi long journey to Hogsmeade. Didn’t they know that the world is a heartless place that wouldn’t hesitate to squash them? Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors, she sighed in annoyance and hugging her leather jacket closer to her thin frame fighting the cold, 5th years no less. They were young; they would learn the hard way.
She approached the small village and looked into each building as she passed. Everything about this place reminded her of the past, happier times before everything changed. Angrily she brushed past memories away; they would do no good now.
Her feet carried her down a familiar path, one she took at least once a week to drown her sorrows. She forced her body to keep moving forward through the cold, stopping for only a moment outside of her favorite tavern, The Hogs Head. The privacy it provided couldn’t be matched by the ever popular Three Broomsticks.
Entering the tavern, Riley didn’t even glance around. She walked straight up to the bar to her usual seat and slipped her coat off. Setting herself onto a bar stool she glanced up to the bartender as she brushed her long brown hair off of her shoulders. Without even asking for her order, the bartender slid a firewhisky over to her. She smiled politely. She really did do this too often.
(OOC: Be easy of me Sean its been a while.)

Andrew watched as the women entered the small tavern. A small smile crawled across his lips as he realized who it was. If memory served him right, she worked as hogwarts. But what did she teach again? He didn't quite remember as he took a small sip of his glass. The liquid felt good on his throat with a small sting of the whiskey. He ginned as he watched her come up to the bar and sit down a few stools away. The fact that the bar tender simple gave her a drink made him chuckle a bit.
"Well Riley, not even gonna say hello to your coworker?" He said with a smile. He at least knew the women's name. She was after all his rival house. He could give her that much. Rubbing a hand through his hair he took a small drink. Wanting to let the drink last. Besides now there was someone else to talk to and his mind would be occupied with conversation or argument. It all just depended on the topic.

Riley threw back her first drink of the night as she heard a person sitting by her address her. Usually she would ignore the people around her because they were either a. Creepy or b. Drunk sometimes they were even c. Both. Therefore she had made a habit of ignoring them but as this man addressed her by name she made the slight effort to turn her head to the side. She noticed her co-worker right away. She raised her eyebrows in mock surprise. "Andrew" she exclaimed, "Fancy seeing you here." She added forcing a small smile onto her lips. It wasn't that she didn't like her co-worker, but they were from rival houses and she didn't know him well preferring usually to say by herself more often then not.
Tucking her hair behind her ear she raised her glass once again to her lips to notice nothing coming out of the item. She frowned. Gone already, she thought putting the glass down once more and motioning for the bar tender to slide another shot her way. This night was going to end over a toilet.

He gave her a small smirk. He didn't really care that they were rival houses. Their really wasn't a reason to act like children. He rubbed his neck before taking another sip of his drink. "Indeed what are the odds of that happening. So what brings you out here at this time?" he asked just trying to make conversation. He wasn't much for flirting or dating. He sometimes wondered if he knew how. The only time he actually talked to any female was at work and school.
He ran a hand through his hair before speaking to the bar tender. "Put it on my tab. No need for me not to be a gentlemen." He said looking over to her. It was just suppose to be a friendly gesture. He hoped it wasn't taken in a wrong a way.

Riley smiled slightly as she glanced at Andrew. “I come here all the time” She stated unashamed. “It a lot quieter than the three broomsticks and I’m less likely to run into one of my students.” She added with a small shrug. It wasn’t that she didn’t like her students she just didn’t want to spend her afternoons with them, especially if she was drinking. Sometimes Riley and her drink are really a bad combination.
She mumbled a small thanks as he offered to put her drink on his tab. Taking her drink she brought the glass to her lips once more enjoying the taste of her firewhisky.
“What brings you here?” She asked mimicking his question as she put down her glass, honestly curious. She had been coming here for a while but she rarely ran into any of her co-workers.

He left his hand on his glass as he listened to the young lady talk. He voice was calm and sweet. He under stood now why so many of his students had a crush on her. The two had talked before. But never really conversed. He sighed before taking another drink. She was quite right about the noise level in this place. It was much more laid back. Be it because people didn't quite want their business heard, or just hiding out. It didn't quite matter.
"Needed to relax. Can only hang around people who think their shit is a pile of bricks for so long." He said with a small sigh. Yes he was indeed a pureblood, yes he believed in pure being better. But their were some exceptions. Sighing he looked over to her. "I swear if they were sat on their asses any more then they already do and complain like the world owes them everything." He took another drink emptying his glass and calling the bartender for another. "Sorry, look at me rambling." He said with a small chuckle. What was it? Nerves. That couldn't be it at all.

Riley smiled as she listened to her co-worker. She liked listening to him. It was nice to have a conversation with someone other than her students. They never had anything interesting to say. All that her students ever talked about was the latest gossip or whatever they were reciting from their textbooks.
“I know what you mean” She said after Andrew finished his small rant. “And you weren’t rambling” She added as an afterthought.
Riley finished her drink and stopped for a minute. She really shouldn’t be drinking this much. After two glasses of firewhisky she was starting to feel the effects. Shrugging she ordered another drink as the bartender approached them hearing Andrew call him.

He nodded as the man handed them their drinks. It was funny how well the two of them had gotten along coming from different sides of the spectrum. But at the same time it felt nice, almost relaxing to have a few drinks and talk to her. Or maybe that was the booze talking. Andrew was a light weight and he knew it. It wasn't cause he couldn't hold his liquor. He just didn't drink a lot or often. So when he ordered the second one he could feel a slight buzz.
"So why Charms if you don't mind me asking?" He asked, just for a change of subject. Maybe get her to talk as well. He felt weird talking more then another person. He was usually the quite one who responded with short and to the point answers. Perhaps he was getting hit harder by the drink then he had thought. Shaking his head he took a drink patiently waiting for her reply.

Riley thanked the bartender as he handed her a new drink. She wondered briefly if he would cut her off if she drank too much. She didn’t really think he would. Sometimes at The Three Broomsticks they would stop her before she got too bad. They knew she was a professor and would need to have her head in the morning, especially as a head of house. But here, they didn’t really care, they were making money and that was all that mattered.
She turned back to Andrew after hearing his question. “Charms,” She said thinking briefly on the answer, “I don’t really know why charms, I was good at it back in my time at Hogwarts and the position was open. I probably would have taken any position really, even the caretaker if that’s what it took” She explained. “I just really needed to come back to a familiar place for a while and Hogwarts seemed to be the best answer.” She finished not really knowing why she was being so honest. She was spilling her guts to a man she didn’t know much about. This could ruin everything. It must be the alcohol talking. She figured vowing to slow down and keep herself under control.
“Why potions?” she asked curiously.

He nodded and listened as the women spoke of her being good at it and wanting to come to a familiar place. He chuckled a bit at that. Hogwarts had changed a lot since he had been there and he was sure it was the same for her. The reminisce of the battle were still present even after so much work had been done to cover it. Even some of the moving stair cases were still off limits.
While taking a drink he heard her question and a small smile came across his face. He had been asked this a lot and never really gave the real reason. Well he gave part of it but not all of it. "I'm good at it. One of the best, or so they say. I don't like to brag about it. But its the power behind potions that intrigues me the most. I mean the power to make some one totally devoted to you, to make some one not be able to utter a lie? Heck to make a failing relationship whole again. Potions have a limitless amount of applications, and we as wizards have only begun to scratch the surface." He said. His grin on his face as he took a drink. "But listen to me, preaching like i'm in class or something. But to sum it all up i'd have to say I was curious about them."

Riley smiled as she listened to Andrew talk about potions. You could tell that he really loved it. She wished that she had something that she loved that much. Sure she enjoyed charms but she couldn’t say that she loved them. Working as a professor was only a detour on her journey. She wanted to see the world one day. She never had any intention of staying at Hogwarts forever.
“I wish I loved something that much,” She mused out loud. “I can’t say that I have anything that I feel that strongly about.” She finished with a small sigh finally downing her most recent drink feeling its effects immediately.
