Nothing but the rustle of papers and the scratch of quills could be heard in that office. In the office of Dylan Etheridge everything was like any normal day for him. Paper work and then out in the classroom to teach and then back to more paper work. Why he wanted to be a professor was beyond him. Nothing could get better then this right? Sure Dylan loved his work, it seemed to him that he spent to much time in his office, but then again that was his fault.
He was a procrastinator, he wasn't lazy he just had other important thing to do. Of course he would spend almost all night awake to finish checking essays, correcting homework and what not. Could they blame him? Procrastination was a difficult habit to get rid of. Shoving himself back from his desk he stood up and stretched his arms. No this is not like me. He though with a faint smile. He looked at his coat and walked out of his office. He need fresh air and not to mention to run some errands. He walked to the fireplace, grabbing some floo powder. When his feet hit the pavement of Hogsmeades he went in search for Honeydukes, but of course he had to stop by the post office.
He thought as he began walking. It was obvious he had been neglecting them, the sweets. He couldn't remember the last time he had a chocolate frog. Digging into his coat pocket he pulled out the letter he was going to send. He always had a habit of proof reading something at the last minute. Of course reading and walking wasn't really the best thing to do.

Desirae was furious with herself. Why did she come here? Why did she choose to write a letter to her parents, to which she hasn't seen in years? Why want to contact them when they disowned her and wanted nothing to do with her? Maybe she yearned for her parents' affection again. Maybe... Maybe she yearned to see them again, talk with them, be a part of their lives once more. She had doubts that they would want anything to do with her now. But she had to try.
Handing the envelope towards one of the employees, she watched as they placed the letter along with the others that were about to be sent. Her heart raced and she turned away by facing her back towards the counter. "I doubt they'll write back..." she mumbled to herself, moving a strand of hair away from her face. Glaring to herself, she shook her head and turned to walk out the door, only to run into the man near by.
"Oh Jesus... I'm sorry, I didn't watch where I was going." she apologized.

"I'm not Jesus. Names, Dylan. If I was that would be pretty sad that I had nothing better to do then go to the post office."Dylan said to the girl who was apologizing for bumping into him. This was one of the major reasons one should never read and walk at the same time. But of course Dylan figured it would be the only time he would have, and it was a kinda long walk. Sure he could of apparated to the post office, but where was the fun of getting to your destination on time.
He found it kinda of amusing when he bumped into someone and vice versa. You never knew who the person was or if you did it was a great coincidence that you both happened to be at the same place at the same time. Turning his attention back to the girl as he placed his letter in his pocket he smiled softly."You alright, it wasn't all your fault. I have this bad habit of reading while I'm walking."He told her with a small chuckle.

Desirae couldn't help but laugh slightly at his joke. She turned her gaze towards his face and a barely noticeable blush appeared on her cheeks. He was surprisingly handsome, she observed. She shook away the thoughts mentally and smiled up at him. She then caught his name; Dylan, he said. A nice name, she thought. She then heard his question and laughed nervously. "I'm okay, thank you. But don't worry about that; I usually have a problem watching where I'm going too." she answered.
She then realized that she hadn't introduced herself. "By the way, I'm Desirae Ravenwing. Pleased to meet you." she said, trying to be as polite as possible. It wasn't like her to act rude or anything. But it also wasn't her nature to suddenly act all social either.

He smiled slightly when he heard her laughing at his joke. Dylan loved to laugh, though he had to admit he wasn't one to tell the funniest jokes, but he could make people laugh once in awhile. He ran his fingers through his hair, as he moved out of the way. He had been to fixated on his conversation with the pretty blonde that he forgot to move out of the way. He smiled at her words and nodded."No need to thank me. That's good to know, at least I'm not alone in that."He said with a small chuckle.
He stuck his hand out towards her."Its a pleasure to meet you Miss Ravenwing. I'm Dylan. Dylan Etheridge. I do hope I wasn't interrupting anything important for you. I would hate to make you late for an appointment or something."Dylan said with a nod.

Desirae chuckled softly and gave him a soft smile. She hadn't smiled like this in a long time. She wasn't sure why she was warming up to him so quickly. Maybe it was because there was something about him that made her feel comfortable. Shrugging it off mentally, she shook his hand gently.
"No, no. It's okay. I was just dropping off a letter to my parents." she replied, cringing at the mention of her parents. She didn't feel comfortable talking about them, really. It was a rather sensitive subject.

Dylan nodded after hearing that she had just finished dropping off a letter to be delivered to her parents. He looked at her and saw her cringe slightly, he bit his lip. He had forgotten due to his lack of conversations, that people seemed to be touchy when it came to family affairs."Sorry, I didn't mean to be nosy."He told her with a nod figuring it was only fair to share what brought him here as well."Well like you, I'm here to deliver a letter to my parents as well. My mom has been worried lately and I haven't sent her a letter in a long time."He told her with a small chuckle."You look familiar. What school did you attend?"He asked her curiously, he had a feeling he had seen her somewhere before, maybe it was back when he was in school.

Desirae smiled in understanding and nodded. She envied him in a way... He was part of his parents' life. They wanted him. She looked down slightly with a sad smile on her face. She missed her family. Deeply.
She then blinked as she heard his question, looking up at him with a smile. "I graduated from Ravenclaw a few years ago. Now that I think about it, you look familiar as well." she said, tilting her head slightly.

He smiled softly before running his fingers through his hair once more. It seemed like he did that when he was nervous or cold. He smiled when he heard her say that she graduated a couple of years ago from the house of ravenclaw."Really that nice, so we went to the same school. Eight years ago, I was a seventh year hufflepuff."He said with a grin, not caring how old he sounded, even though he was only twenty-five. To him that sounded very old. They could of been in a class together, but it all deepened on what year she was and really if they had chosen the same elective class. like astronomy or care of magical creatures to name a few."What can I say, I have an unforgettable face."He said jokingly.

Desirae laughed softly at his joke, moving some hair away from her face. He did have a sense of humor, that was for sure. She gazed up at him as she tilted her head in curiosity.
"Eight years? Then you're 25, right?" she asked. She was a bit skilled with math; it just came natural to her, really. "I'm graduated six years ago." she added.

He laughed and nodded when she said his ages."Yes, I'm that old. And your twenty three. See your not that old, well compared to me."He said with a grin,"What classes did you have. I remember taking astronomy, care of magical creatures, well of course along with my other required classes."He told her with a nod, wondering a bit why he wanted to find out why this girl looked so familiar. Sure he was social back in his school years, but he didn't even remember the girl's name."Hey, do you want to go get some coffee or something? I mean unless you want to keep talking in the post office."He said with a smile.

Desirae chuckled softly at his statement. "25 isn't that bad." she tried to reassure, laughing softly. She then heard his question about what classes she took and thought for a moment, trying to remember. "Well... I remember taking Care for Magical Creatures and Charms." she stated.
Then it hit her. They had taken one class together. She had wondered why he looked so familiar. "Seems that we've taken Care for Magical Creatures together." she laughed, rubbing the back of her head with a small blush painting her cheeks. She then heard his next question and smiled at the offer. "Coffee sounds good to me." she said.

He laughed at what she said."Your just saying that because your younger then me."He said with a nod as he waited for the people that were coming into the post office to come inside before holding open the door for Desirae and followed her once they were out in the cold november air. He started to walk at a steady pace, he didn't want to be way ahead of her."Yeah, care of magical creatures was quite an exciting class. Though I can't remember if anything too dangerous happened."He said with a chuckle.

Desirae smiled gently at the man and thought for a moment. "Yeah.. I remember seeing my first Hippogriff while attending that class." she reminisced, laughing to herself. She was a third year when she saw the Hippogriff, she recalled. Beautiful creatures, she thought to herself.
She then gazed at Dylan, a barely visible light pink appearing on her cheeks. He was very attractive, she observed. But shaking the thought away mentally, she tried to continue the conversation. "I can't recall anything dangerous happening either." she stated, trying to think of something that might've happened.
