To put it bluntly, Draven was abso-fucking-lutely livid. His hands, which were balled tightly into fists, were jammed into the pockets of his coat. In his back pocket, folded up, was the letter from his daughter Violet. He had to keep resisting the urge to stop, take it out, read it, and become pissed off all over again. Never in his life had he ever been this enraged. Not when Shell broke it off the first time, not when she wouldn't marry him, not when she decided he could only see his daughter two days out of the year, not even when she up and married someone else. Drave was a good father, dammit, and there was no way this shit was going to fly with him.
Pieces of Vi's letter meshed in his head. Letters were always their "thing" since they didn't get to see each other too often. Lately, Violet was having problems with Shell's husband. And a whole basket full of them, at that. But when he received this letter in particular, he knew something was going to have to be officially done. That was why he was walking like he was on a mission for the holy grail. The trolley dropped him off three blocks from Shelby and Hawthorne's (saying his first name was a sin to Draven) residence. Within five minutes, he had already closed the two-block gap and was now coming up on being a minute and a half from their home. 'Dad, he treats us like he doesn't even want to be around us. Like we aren't even part of the family he's in.'
When Draven arrived, he wasn't even out of breath. He was far too busy fuming and trying to keep himself in check so as to not cave the door in by the kick of his foot. Raising his hand, he placed three hard, solid knocks on the door and stood there in his rage, waiting for someone to answer the door. This was just it. Violet had always been happy living with her mother and her mother's...husband, but her asking to come live with Draven (not that he viewed that as a bad thing; he would've loved nothing more than to have his daughter for more than two days out of the entire year) was seen as something serious going on. Something that definitely was going to be talked about, whether Shell and her prick-of-a-husband wanted to or not.

Ever since coming back home from the hell hole known as death eater headquarters, things at the Hawthorne residence wasn't much better. Sure, her and Spencer were having some amazing times together before the whole incident with the hair stylist. Then there was the topic of how the children were so distant from Spencer. She learned from Violet her eldest, that he had shipped them off to Aunt Natalie's house the entire time she was gone. At the words of him slapping her daughter across the face was not what she wanted to hear. In fact, it made her rethink her whole marriage with Spencer. Shell knew he loved her dearly, but when things like this happen... she couldn't over look it.
Today, she was going to go visit Violet at school since she hadn't really spent time with just her. It tended her time to be with all of them at once or with the younger ones since they were more vulnerable to these sorts of things. After all, her two youngest were only ten and seven. Shell heard a knock on the door as she applied her rose reddish pink lipstick on. She tilted her curly head of golden locks as she took her black jacket along with the winter accessories off. Lately, when they received guests they were to stay a while.
Walking down the steps carefully in her gray boot high heels, she answered the door. The person on the other side of it made her suck in a gasp of air. "Draven. I haven't seen you since Violet's first trip to Hogwarts. That was about five years ago." she said looking down to his shoes, letting her aquamarine blue eyes soak in his appearance as they finally rested at his own blue eyes. It made her bite her lip slightly as she side stepped out of the way so he could come into her house. "I'm assuming Vi wrote you." she mumbled as she closed the door behind him as she extended a hand for his scarf and coat.

Lost in his own head, Draven simply brushed passed Shelby as she extended the door open for him. On some level, he knew he was being rude, but frankly he didn't give two shits. He wasn't here for hospitality, or to be nice. This was about Violet and nothing else. His fists kept clenching and unclenching in his pockets. "Yup." Drave responded, barely. Once inside the house, he just stood in the little entryway, eyes darting back and forth, trying to remain calm. As if she couldn't tell already, he was infuriated. At the moment he was getting himself to relax, so as not to just start shouting and screaming at her. Taking a hand out of his pocket, he pinched the bridge of his nose with his thumb and his index finger. Draven took a deep breath and shot flashing eyes at Shelby.
"Honestly, I don't even know where to begin with this one, Shell." He began, shaking his head. "Should we start with what an asshole that guy is? Or should I just start kicking his ass right now? Is he here? Because I really think I ought to lay into him on this one." His voice was shaking, not because he was nervous or scared of confrontation (honestly, when it came to his daughter, Draven could be like Superman.), but more because he was so anger-stricken. Really, this Spencer guy pushed him over the line this time. "I'm not even going to ask why I couldn't just take Violet for the time while you were gone. But I am going to ask who in the fuck gave this guy permission to just ship my daughter somewhere else while he had a grand ole time having the house to himself. Hate to break it to you, but that's not parenting, it's being a fucking idiot."
Draven wasn't letting Shelby get a word in, at all. He felt that he needed to get all of this out, now. His words were flying so fast from his mouth, on a side note he was hoping Shelby was catching every goddamn word of it. "I have Vi asking to come and live with me. Obviously something's wrong here, Shell." It was slightly sad that he knew the only reason Violet wanted to come and live with him was because she wasn't happy here. Rather, he wanted her to come live with him because she wanted to, not because conditions at her other home were crappy. But either way, Draven wouldn't care. "If she wants to come live with me Shell, I'm not going to tell her no." He knew Shelby loved their daughter very much, and had sort of a special bond with her. If they weren't living in the same house together, Shell would be heartbroken. Drave was prepared to let that happen.

Shell looked at Draven with a blank expression. He was furious and beyond angry. However, she had no idea why he was ranting around like a bull in a china shop. Seeing his actions it made her wish she didn't let him into her house now. Especially at his first few set of words. "Wait now just a second. He's not an asshole Draven. Far from it. If anything he would kick your ass and he does have a name." she muttered, crossing her arms in front of her.
Her tongue slid across the inside of her cheek which caused her to let out a heavy huff. "Because Draven. Spencer is my husband and is her guardian. Not you. When they thought I was dead they gave all the kids to Spencer." she muttered once again. "Makes logical sense doesn't it? Now you may go. I don't need you insulting my husband because of your jealously issues." she told him as she started to walk towards him to show Draven the door. He had no right to come into her house and speak like this about her husband.
Though at his words, she stopped in her tracks. Her right hand was resting on Draven's arm as she stared at his chest confused. This was news to her. Spencer neglected to mention that he had shipped their kids off to someone's house. Who's house? How long were they there? Why did he send them somewhere? Her blue eyes darted to his own blues before her mouth was trying to form a sentence. "What? What do you mean he sent them somewhere else to live when I was captured by death eaters? Seriously Draven, I don't know what you're talking about." she said closing her eyes before running her tongue along the side of her cheek again.
Taking a couple more steps towards him her hands found their way into his own as she stood there feeling betrayed about what Draven told her about Spencer. "Are you sure about this? Cause if this is some trick Draven... I swear." she started to say but she heard him mention something about Vi wanting to live with him. That was blow to the heart number two. "No. She's not going with you. I'm not going to let her go with you. I just got out of that hell hole of torture of six months. You are not taking her." she said letting her hands squeeze Draven's. "I need her here with me." she added shaking her head some as her eyes searched into his own as if it would tell her what she needed to do. "Like how I need you here with me too."

Even though he knew his behavior was probably going to freak Shelby out, he couldn't stop himself from romping around like and elephant. This was serious business that was being attended to, and he intended to conduct it like so. When it came to Violet, there wasn't any mountain he wouldn't move for her. "Really?" He responded in an extremely argumentative tone, "He sure seems like a huge fucking asshole to me." Drave cut in after her sentence. This was his speaking pattern as of right now. Say as much as he could and cut Shelby off during her time to talk. Maybe she would get what was going on quicker if she didn't interject.
And now they were straying to an argument that had been plaguing him for the past five years. Why on earth wasn't Draven his own daughter's guardian? "I am not even going to get into the guardian thing with you, Shell. You know goddamn well I should be my own daughter's guardian over that fucking prick." Drave fumed. His arms were crossed over his chest as well, a stance both of them knew intimately when fighting in this sort of way. "And excuse me for insulting someone who needs insulting anyway. I told you that guy was nothing but problems from the second you told me about him." That statement really didn't have anything to do with the banter at hand, but he felt the need to slip it in there anyway.
At this point, Draven's scarf was beginning to irritate him, since he had sweat dripping halfway down his neck and on fire in his leather coat. He almost wished he would have indulged in Shelby's kindness to take it, but it was too late for that now. Keeping it on and fighting through the heat would just have to make do. Then again, her next statement made his eyes bug out even worse than when he had read Violet's letter in the first place. "Are you fucking serious right now!? What the hell do you mean, 'you don't know what I'm talking about'?" This had to be some sort of a joke, right? Some twist of denial that Shelby was going through in her own mind. She was just going to deny the incident and pretend like it never happened. What the hell difference did make to her, anyway? Draven wasn't going to get custody of Violet, no matter what he did, even if she did want to come and live with him herself.
Her next statement blew his gasket. "Joke? A joke? Is that what you think that this fucking is, Shelby? Yeah, I came all the way down here to play a sick little joke on you." He was absolutely furious right now, even more so than when he first walked in. In a flash he was rummaging through his pants pockets, and then his coat pockets, bringing out a shaking hand that held Violet's own handwritten letter to him. "Joke about this, then." Draven flashed the piece of parchment violently in her face. "Read that and tell me this is best place for her." Drave stood there fuming for a few seconds, beckoning her to read the letter in front of her. "Read that and then tell me, as a mother, how you could be so selfish as to keep her here because you need her."

Shell looked to him before glaring at him. "You seriously need to stop talking about him like that. What do you suggest then? I divorce him and go off with you into the sunset?" she asked him in a loud arguing tone back to him. Her face was already growing a faint pink color as she glared up to the ravenclaw. His words made her bit her lip before raising a hand up and slapping him across the face. "Shut up. Just shut up Draven." she yelled huffing as she took a few deep breaths.
Her eyes glared at him still before sighing. "No, I don't know what the fuck you're talking about Draven! For all I knew was the kids were here. They didn't say anything different about it, even Violet. She's been all smiles with me ever since I finally escaped. So no, I don't know." she said truthfully as looked to him. Ripping the letter out of his hand she opened it and read it. As her eyes went over the words, she closed her eyes once she was done. She looked to his coat and put the letter back where it was. After smoothing out his coat, she gave him a smile and sat down on her couch. "I had no idea. Here I was getting raped and physically abused by death eaters and this is how Spencer was treating them. I. God damn it Spencer." she said looking to her wedding rings. She shook her head before leaning back onto the couch to look at the ceiling.

All Draven could do was narrow his eyes at her. She knew damn well that he did nothing but love her, pine for her, all those years ago when she strung him along. That was all he wanted: a ride off with her into the sunset. "Not anymore, I don't." He said to her, and very coldly at that. There was barely any joking in his eyes when he spoke the words softly to her. Even though, deep down, he would still love nothing more than to have her to call his own. Her slap across the face caught him completely off guard, though. And at that point, he did shut up. After that, he didn't say anything for a moment, he just stood there staring at her, not really sure what to do. It was so surprising that she had just slapped him across the face. Of course, he was probably asking for it, what with his attitude and all. But could she blame him? This was their daughter he was talking about. Wouldn't she want the best thing for her too?
Listening to Shelby continue to state that she didn't know what was going on with Violet still didn't prompt him to speak. Simply, he let her snatch the letter from his hands and read it. Draven hung back at this point, watching Shell read Violet's letter to him. Seeing this as a silent opportunity to calm down, he took it. He relaxed his mind a little bit, letting the quiet air flow over him. Once Shelby had placed the note back in his pocket, he snapped out of whatever daze he had drifted off into. Hanging back, he watched Shell flop down on the couch, muttering to herself. Sighing, he walked over to her, pinching the bridge of his nose again. Right now it was quite clear that Shelby really didn't have a clue about what went on while she was gone. "Look Shell, the only reason I came here so pissed off in the first place was because I thought you knew what was taking place." He spoke softly, looking down at her. "If you don't excuse my behavior from before, that's fine. But I do want something done about this. This isn't going to fly with me." Hopefully, she'd see it the same way and maybe have Vi come live with him, at least for a little while anyway; Shelby and her husband could get whatever shit straightened out that they needed to. Something about her previous statement reeled back in his mind, though. "Wait, what?" He gasped, pretty sure that she had said she had been raped. If it wasn't for the deep concern for his daughter, he probably would've commented on it before. "Are you okay Shelby?" Draven rushed to her side on the couch. "Vi told me about the kidnapping, but I really didn't get specific details..."

Shot number three to the heart. Shell closed her eyes and just nodded some. She could have sworn that Violet told her that Draven used to write how he wished her, Vi and him could be a family, But she forgot the keyword in that, used. "What so you think I'm an asshole too? A prick and go for nothing who can't raise their children?" she asked him still with her eyes closed as she stared at him. He seemed to be speechless after she slapped him and even though Shell didn't go for violence; she was glad it made him stop talking to her about how Spencer was awful. At this rate though, Draven seemed to be right.
"Draven. Do you really think I'm that terrible of a mother? If I knew... Now that I know. I have to rethink this whole thing with Spencer. He promised to treat Violet like his own flesh and blood and did before I got kidnapped. But now... I can't do this with him knowing what he did." she said looking over to him. "Oh something's going to be done." she nodded to him before noticing that Draven had caught her words despite everything. "I'm fine... just. I'm pregnant. And now either way if it's Spencer's or some random death eater who fucked me. I don't want it." she muttered before a few tears slipped from her eyes. "That would be because I didn't tell her. I didn't want her to know. I didn't want to be selfish and expect her to comfort me. I wanted to comfort her with the relief of she still had a mother. Don't you ever say I'm a terrible mother. I think of them before you, Spencer and myself."

Using her advice (technically it was a demand, since she was practically yelling at him) from before, Draven remained silent. To make things easier, he just let the the question/statement slip by him. Of course he didn't think Shelby was a terrible mother. Nowhere in this argument had he even spoken those words. Now that he wasn't as hyped up as before, he was beginning to realize the effect that his actions were having on her. At this point, he wanted to take back a few of the things he said. Realizing there would be no point in doing so. Because, after all, even if he said "I take back saying 'I don't want you anymore'" what good would it do him? All that would do is make him seem like some sort of pathetic puppy dog, following her around, trying to cause riffs in her marriage (which he was so NOT doing).
"No." Drave snapped, a little more sharply than intended. "I do not think you're a terrible mother. Nowhere at any point in this conversation have I said that. And I especially don't think so since you didn't have a clue what was going on." He remarked, taking a seat next to Shell on the couch. Draven was sitting right beside her now, talking to her, rather than yelling at her, like before. A secret smile threatened to show in his face, hearing that this was going to be difficult for Shell with Spencer now. On one side, it made him a little sick, because he was honestly and truly only doing this for Violet's sake. On the other hand, though, he couldn't help but be happy hearing that this was going to cause a big problem in their marriage. "Thank you." Nodding to her, he was quite happy to hear that this whole thing wasn't just going to blow over. If that had been the outcome he wanted, he would have just kept quiet in the first place. Draven sighed and leaned back on the couch, now staring up at the ceiling himself. "Well, I certainly hope that Spencer has been comforting you, then." He began, "And secondly, whoa." Drave immediately turned to look at her once more. "Have you gotten that checked out?" It was beginning to become a little scary to himself the amount of concern he was expressing over this. "Shelby, I know it's not my place, but I would definitely consider everything before you just decide that you don't want a human being. Look," Drave looked directly at her, "I promise you that I didn't come here to cause anything between you and your husband. I just want this whole thing with Violet fixed. And as for you being pregnant," This is the point he paused for a moment and gulped. Here, he would have to eat his pride and man up like the guy he knew he was before all this jealousy and misery overtook him, "if Spencer isn't willing to help, you know I'm only about a two hour drive away." Silence came quickly after that. Drave looked at her, not knowing what sort of reaction she was going to have. Hell, he didn't even know what kind of reaction he would have, once this all settled in.

Shell looked to Draven and let out a sigh. Hearing his comment she shook her head. "I think when I told him about the death eaters he was not thrilled. Instead he just wanted sex and nothing else it seemed. Like he acted like he was excited I was back and everything but. I just wanted someone to hold me and maybe some kissing but that's it. Not full out sex though." she said before sighing. "I know it's weird hearing that from me, but after probably thirty death eaters rape you... just not special anymore." she said with a frown. Looking to Draven again, she noticed how close he was sitting to her on the couch. She bit her lip before scooting over and moving her arms around his waist. "Sometimes, it makes me wonder if I wasn't so immature all those years ago and married you instead of him." she whispered softly as she snuggled her head into his shoulder. "But I don't get why you're being so nice to me. You just said you don't want anything to do with me hun." she sighed as she kissed his shoulder lightly.

Draven found it absolutely appalling about what Shelby was telling him about her coming home. Many emotions were rising from her one statement. He felt sad for her getting treated like shit, when she had already been treated like shit enough, angry at Spencer for being a prick to the girl he still cared about (despite his extreme attempts at denial), useless for not being able to be the one to comfort her and be there for her, and slightly jealous, only because Shell didn't really need to input the sex part there. Either way, the general thought of it was horrible, and Drave gave her an appropriate frown at finding all of this out. "I'm really sorry to hear that. That's...terrible."
[/b] He didn't know what else to say. Her next words were striking to him, however, and caught him off guard in just the slightest. She had actually thought about the "what if" of them getting married? But he didn't let her see his astonishment and the slight "tee-hee" face he almost made. "Yeah," Drave simply nodded, rather indifferently, "me too." His jaw felt like if wasn't attatched to his face, it would be hanging on it's hinges right now. There on Shell's couch he sat perfectly still. He let her snuggle up to him and like a reflex, put his arm around her and began lightly stroking her hair. Several thoughts crossed his mind at once. What the hell was he doing? Letting his guard down, that's what he was doing. Shell already thought he was a lonely, pathetic shell of a man who wanted nothing more than to crawl on his knees back to her, begging to take him back. This was only going to give her reason to suspect it even more. Then again, she was the one doing the cuddling. She was the one who just...gave him a kiss on the shoulder?! Draven was immersed in thoughts, all crazily swimming around in his head. "Well I'm not exactly an unfeeling kind of guy." Draven half-answered, still trying to make sense of all of this. "It isn't that I want nothing to do with you, Shelby." He looked at her, "It's just that you've made it a little difficult over the years to be your best pal and all. I mean, you don't let me see my daughter. You marry some guy..." Despite like feeling he was getting into another argument again, he couldn't help but notice how nice this was, being this close to her. He missed this. He just wanted to wrap her up in his arms. "Look, it's not important, alright? I can't just sit here and watch shit go down the drain like it is and not trying and help in some way."[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Shell was surprised at how this ended up. Draven came in here ranting his ass off for now what she believed to be a very reasonable reason. She was clueless about all of it and it made sense now why Spencer was acting lately. It explained everything lately and how it pieced together... learning this from a letter her own daughter wrote to her actual father and then Draven being the good father he was doing something about it. Spencer had hit her beyond pissed meter. She nodded when he said yeah, it made her wonder if again. Seriously, what would have happened with them? She probably wouldn't of had Spencer in her life again. He'd probably be back in Azkaban after being captured. After all, he was hiding in her house for all those months. Without her, he'd be running around in forests trying to hide from the aurors. And this was how he paid her back, shipping their children including Violet off to live with her sister.
As he stroked her hair, she let out a content sigh as her eyes fluttered closed. She loved this feeling when he was with him and it made her smile weakly despite the circumstances being her telling Draven why she was so upset lately. Shell continued with her light kisses on his shoulder before moving them up to the base of his neck and slowly to his neck. Right now, her mind wasn't on Spencer at all. She had to admit and if he asked, she did still love him dearly. When he made a comment she leaned back and looked to his eyes. "Do you really think it's possible for us to have been friends with Spencer? If some random guy looks at me on the street he gets jealous. Can you imagine you being here with him? He would try to kill you." she sighed as she moved her hand up to his hair and threaded his hair through her fingers. As she thought about it, she really did think right now Violet would be better off at Draven's but under one condition. "Would I be able to visit her when I want if she lives with you?" she asked him as she scooted a little closer to him and kissed his cheek. "That's the only way this is going to happen. Either that or I'm moving out and taking all the kids with me and you may visit then. But at this rate. Wait! Since I need to think about what to do with Spencer now... do you think all of the kids and I could move in with you? I know it's a lot but. I really don't want to be in the same house as him when I'm considering divorce. What do you say love?" she asked him. Her hand moved to the top of his pants just barely going over a certain area as she went back to kissing his neck once more.

This was really quite a predicament Draven was getting himself into, he could already see it now. Already Shelby was talking about "what ifs" and it was making him sort of anxious. Was it that obvious that he missed her? Did he make it blatantly obvious by him being caring toward her and truly being concerned for what was going on? Half of him wanted to forget the whole thing, to tell her to shove it and that she could deal with whatever the fuck was going on between her and her husband. That he wanted no part in that whatsoever. That he didn't care that they sexed it up all the time and she was having a baby (after all, it wasn't his this time, so what would he have to do with it anyway?) and didn't want to keep it and all of this other shit he felt she was imposing on him. And yet, on the other hand, he offered himself up as the listening ear. In fact, on the complete other hand, he wanted to be the listening ear. He wanted to hear about all the crap she had been going through, been put through. And more than anything, he wanted her to think about what might have happened if she hadn't dumped him (twice, nonetheless). What would they be doing right now? Would they have made it through all the bullshit of her parents? Would Shelby have been able to stand it?
Right now it was a miracle that he didn't faint from all the action taking place in his brain. So many thoughts were just whizzing by him, he didn't know how to make sense of them all. But all of a sudden, his thoughts abruptly stopped by a sensation coming from his neck. His eyes immediately darted downward and saw Shell there, inching up his shoulder, along his neckline, leaving a small trail of kisses from where she started. Drave's eyes were beginning to close due to how good that was feeling at the moment. Luckily for him, Shelby's words snapped him back into focus. Pulling himself slightly away (not in a mean way, but in order for her to look at him while he was speaking), he rebuttled with a "That's not exactly my fault Shell. Or yours, really. You could've at least maybe said you wanted to get along with me for Violet's sake." Draven suggested to her with a shrug. Although, as soon as he thought he was out of dodge, Shell began running her fingers through his hair, a motion that she couldn't have possibly forgotten he loved. It was odd how no thought to just stop her had entered his mind, at least yet. He did manage to slightly get away a second time, literally pushing her to the side a little. Now, he was shocked and confused. All of Shelby's words were rushing together at once. Draven heard the bit about Violet getting to come and stay with him and that was all he heard. "Yes, yes of course you can visit her any time you want! Just because she'd be living with me doesn't mean I'm going to put her behind bars." Drave interjected. And he kept agreeing, not even really knowing what he was agreeing to. He was so insanely happy that Vi was actually going to get to spend some quality time with him. Oh the things he would plan for them to go and do! On another note, Drave was still agreeing. With everything. With Shell and the rest of the whole clan coming to live with him. Frankly, he didn't even hear her say it, but he didn't care, he just went right on agreeing. And then his whole body seized up in one small, slow moment. He felt himself stiffen down there and saw Shell moving over his body. And without warning, pulled her in to kiss her.

Shell looked to Draven and smiled some. All of her thoughts were going wild. By her actions of kissing his shoulder to the base of his neck then up to his actual neck; he didn't seem to be objecting and she definitely missed the feeling of his sweet flesh on her lips. Shell was holding back a moan as she continued with her actions and it felt normal, as if they would do this all the time and nothing was wrong with it. Sure, Shell was married to Spencer still. But how much longer was it really going to last anyway? He lied about the children, didn't tell her where they were and mistreated them when they were the last things he had that connected him to herself. But he obviously didn't see it that way. He was more concerned with his selfish tendencies of pain of her death, when Spencer should have tended to the kids. However the other couple of thoughts in her mind was why would Draven seriously want her? She had three children since they were together added to her clan and she had chosen someone else over him twice already. It was almost like she wondered if Draven was leading her on and then was going to be a complete ass and leave her there vulnerable. At the same time, she really didn't blame him too much if he would do that. She already treated him miserably with not seeing their daughter and dumping him twice.
Her mind was probably spinning as much as Draven's right now with all the possibilities of how this could fully unfold in the next few minutes. The worst two being either Draven getting up and leaving her there completely emotional or Spencer come home and see them like this on the couch. Though the second one, it would end whatever was going on between them and it would probably be for the best at this point from the information she learned from her former lover. Shelby sighed lightly as she closed her eyes when he looked to her and rebuttaled her comment. "Draven. It's nearly impossible for me sometimes to get Spencer to agree with me. He refused that I could cut my hair to my shoulders. I'm telling you... it just wouldn't have worked." she said softly, motioning to the fact her hair was nearly long enough to touch her ass now. Sure, it looked pretty but she wanted her long hair gone.
Shell grinned though ear to ear when he said it was alright for all of her children and herself could move in with him. It showed Shell she really was making a better decision and that he really wanted to be apart of just not Violet's life but even her own and the other three kids. Maybe with Draven this time she could raise this child she was going to have. Something he missed out on when she was pregnant with Violet. He wasn't even there when she was born. Though the next thing that happened surprised her even more. His lips were upon her own. He was kissing her. Draven was actually kissing her was all her mind could comprehend right now. Her shocked moan against his lips proved she didn't expect it, but her hands made their way around his neck to pull him closer. After a few seconds, Shelby broke the kiss and took a couple deep breaths. "Slayter. I must admit one thing. You kiss better than Spencer." she whispered with a flirtatious smile before she kissed his lips once again lightly.

Draven was really going to have to begin thinking about the situation he was in from a rational angle. After all, he had been duped and dumped by Shelby twice already, both times she claimed to be in love with him. And both times he had had his heart ripped up int little shreds and then spit on. Sure, this all felt good and he was glad to have Shell paying him this kind of attention again. Actually, it felt really good. He felt, well, happy. That may have been a weird word to use, and probably way to early at this point to use it, but that was the only way he could describe it at the moment. Then again, (and this was where his rationality was starting to settle in) she did dump him. Twice. Did he really want to get involved with this again? Did he really want to open up to her, to expose himself, to make himself vulnerable? What would happen if he bought into this, only to have his heart stepped all over again? It was a big risk. Draven, being the level-headed, rational guy (most of the time) he was, truly wanted to believe that Shelby wasn't that coldhearted. That she wouldn't just string him along again, only to repeat history for the third time. There was still a part of him that was afraid of getting his heart stomped on all over again. And this aspect was only reinforced by the fact that Shelby was still married to Spencer. It wasn't like this was occurring months later, after they (if they, that is) had been divorced and Shell had been rid of all feelings of him.
So what was he going to do? Shut her down now, before this could go any farther, or give it a chance, see where it went? His thoughts, thankfully, were disrupted for a moment by her speaking to him. It was awful what he was hearing, how Spencer was so incredibly possessive of her. Geez, it wasn't like she was some random object of beauty (though Shelby was incredibly beautiful, there was no way Drave could deny that.). His eyes also widened slightly at the hair-cutting comment. "And you're with this guy because...?" Drave trailed off, offering for her to finish the sentence. Of course, he didn't mean that in a jealous, ex-boyfriend type of way. Shelby was always a free spirit; why would she want to be with someone who seemed to tie her down so much? Especially when Draven had always tried to let her be her own person, to do her own thing. Going from one extreme to the other must've been really difficult for her. Now he was really wondering what had made the two last even this long.
Her last little comment did it for him. This was it. Draven was throwing caution to the wind. Who gave a fuck if this didn't work out? They were here, it was now, right in the this moment that he might never have chance to have again. He was going to take the risk. "Well, thank you ma'am." He slyly replied back to her, before feeling her lips against his again. He loved her. Still. There just wasn't anything that could be done about that. This moment with her was like so many others he had pictured in his mind, waiting for the day he would finally get another chance at this. This time, he was going to try his hardest not to fuck it up. Though, technically Shelby dumped him, for reasons of her own that had nothing to truly do with him as a person. He just sort of assumed responsibility for it anyway, because that was just the sort of guy he was. Since a decision was finally made in his crazy mind, Draven was getting more into this. He placed one of his hands on the side of her neck and the other on the small of her back, scooting her closer to him. "And you still know how to work it." He commented, pulling away to give her a little wink before pressing his lips dangerously hard against hers.
