Hermione might put on at least foundation but she isn't one to care about her appearance overmuch. Hermione doesn't wear jewelry unless she has to. She doesn't put much thought into her appearance other than she's trying to send a message with what she's wearing and wants the right message to be sent.

,PERSONALITY OVERVIEW:
There was more to Hermione's personality when you looked at her relationship with Harry and Ron. She didn't hang out with the other girls like most would have, her fear of failure and rejection cause her to constantly turn to those who are too ignorant or respect her enough not to say anything about her emotional ties to people. There are emotions that she really has to watch before she figures out before she'll accept them, and there are many occasions that she doesn't like the result of that analysis of herself. Of course, it's not the only reason she hung out with them. She cared for them both deeply, and they helped her have fun when she would usually been studying and lonely. Her loosing Harry was extremely hard on her, and she drew back into her 'shell' more than she ever had.
Hermione is very blunt with people, and will tell people exactly what she thinks. There are times that she things it would be better to lie, which she would promptly do but she isn't a very good liar. She couldn't force herself to cry when she wanted, but it means she leans more on honesty rather than on lies. People know that she'll be honest with them and often don't have to fear she'll try and use them for their usefulness.
Hermione cares about those who can't stand up for themselves, and will often get up a defense against those need one. Of course, her version of need could be quite different from others', given her group S.P.E.W. for the house elves. She is very compassionate for not only the underdog, but about those close to her as well. She can see the little things that people do when they like someone else, and will often help them in their relationship or to help gain a relationship with that person. She is still very much a girl, and understands them very well because she has felt many of those same emotions or has read about them in a book. Of course, sometimes she's intrusive and people don't really want her sticking her nose into their love life.
Hermione is very loyal and caring. She could be described as motherly and protective of her friends, and it can often be annoying to those who already have a mother on their backs. She will put her own emotions or attachments to a person and do what's best for them, as shown when she modified her parents memory and sent them away to someplace self until after the battle. She now has a younger sister, and because of the new reign of Voldemort she has left them in their safe haven instead of bring them back into the war for her own sake.
Hermione is resourceful, and has a thirst to constantly learn new knowledge. She is a wealth of knowledge and like to use it wisely. If you have knowledge it is useless without the wisdom to apply to your life. Her fear of failure fueled this part of her personality, and because in the wizarding world she fit in more than in the muggle world she works hard to proof that she deserved to be there just like everyone else.
Hermione refuses to believe something if she has no proof of it first. This had gotten them into some trouble and Hermione feels tremendously guilty for it. She relies on logic to fairy tales and old legends. She isn't always right and panics when she finds out she was just a little bit wrong about something. It could take her quite a while to really think about what to do next, and she fears that while doing that they could all be killed.
Hermione prefers logic and reasoning to simply using magic. She doesn't understand how it came to be that she got magic, and lives in fear that she might loose her magical abilities one day. She has several theories about how muggle borns came to have magic. Perhaps a squid in their ancestor and the magic had been dormant until that time, but still passed through the family until they found one worthy to be it's holder. She loves using magic, but if she were to ever loose her magic she was to be prepared to live without them.

,SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS: poor
,HISTORY OVERVIEW:
Hermione was born to Daniel and Janette Granger, two dentists who took pride in all they did. They did their best to strive for their goals and do everything the right way. Even when Hermione was young, they would teach her to do what's right. They read her stories as a child, and nurtured her the very best they could. When they both worked, Hermione stayed with a nanny who was instructed to make sure Hermione stayed out of trouble and always picked up after herself. Hermione didn't particularly like her nanny, though it wasn't because of her pinched face or strict and sometimes harsh words.
When Hermione started muggle school, she was somewhat of an outcast. She felt awkward with them, and would drown herself in learning how to read and write. She picked up on things rather fast, but she still was a child. She loved to learn, but she was also filling in the empty space where she should have been socializing with the other children with her school work. She had one friend she got along with and would sit and talk with during recess, but once school had ended they didn't see or talk to each other until they walked into the classroom the next morning. She could tell the girl feared her though, because often strange things would happen around her.
Hermione received her letter of admittance to Hogwarts with slight skepticism, as did her parents. They were realists and the facts said that there could be no such things as magic. Yet, they decided to try this 'magical school' out. It didn't take them long to realize out wrong they had been in their logic, and Hermione felt thrilled that she might meet someone there she would get along with. If she didn't fit in with the muggle because she was a witch, she had to fit in with everyone else.
Hermione read nearly all her books before getting lost in Platform 9 ¾. She had roamed around before leaned on that platform and falling through instead of leaning against brick. She was amazed with magic, and quickly kissed her mother and father good bye before entering the train. Despite being all happy happy joy joy to get to Hogwarts, Hermione was terrified of what might happen. What would happen if she didn't fit in either world?
Hermione went into the Hogwarts express and sat the first empty compartment she could find. She put her trunk away and began to read when Neville Longbottom knocked on the door asking if she had seen a toad. Hermione denied seeing any toad and put her book away to try and help the poor boy find his toad. She went to every compartment to ask if people had seen a toad. It was her way of trying to make a new friend. It was in this search that she first met Harry and Ron.
Hermione went on into Hogwarts, getting sorted into Gryffindor and joining the brave. Hermione was skeptical of her why the hat had put her in Gryffindor. It seemed like she would be more fitted for Ravenclaw. She felt so scared at that time, and timid. After a good night's sleep, she kept back straight and head up high for the classes. That would be her most comfortable place, the classroom and the library, she had decided, would be her havens.
During one Charms lesson, Hermione did her best to try and improve Ron's spell work. She had only been trying to help him, and perhaps gain a friend as well. Instead, after class he insulted her and Hermione went off crying into the girl's bathroom where Harry and Ron had to save her from a mountain troll. It was a start of a close friendship and gave Hermione some more courage and confidence to be herself.
Through out the years, Hermione relied on the books she read to help solve the problems. There were times she helped the boys in their school work, but she would leave them room to learn from what she put down on paper. When they were going to go off and try and save everyone or something, she would create a plan. When she knew something was right, she was very blunt and somewhat bossy about it. Yet, she was always loyal and compassionate to those she was close to and then also the underdogs of the magical world. She understood them and could empathize on being the outcast and believed that no one should be that way. Though, she doesn't always understand why people would be content to be looked down upon like the House Elves. She could be slightly ignorant of the things she doesn't understand.
During the search for horcruxes, Hermione felt very alone at times. She took it hard when Ron left, and was very skeptical about the old legends of the Deathly Hallows. Sometimes her logic would land them in more trouble, but yet she also did her best to be more of a strength that a hindrance when she worked. She was prepared for nearly anything but Harry dying. It killed her inside, having the watch him die. Hermione retreated more into herself, pushing herself to find some other way to defeat Voldemort. She had thought of Harry dying, but didn't think it would really happen. She blames herself for Harry's death, though in the back of her mind she knows it's not her fault. She just felt like she lost the brother she never had when she was growing up. She's now in the order, seeking revenge for her lost comrade.

Hermione Granger brushed her hair slowly, staring into the mirror as she did. With each brush stroke, it seemed like her hair only got bushier and bushier. She sighed in a momentary defeat and set the brush down on her dresser. She pulled out her wand and repaired the damage she had done to her hair simply by brushing it and her hair flattened slightly. It was more manageable this way, and even quicker but Hermione had seen what she would look like without magic to help her along the way. She wondered how she had gotten magic in the first place, was there a squid that had married a muggle in her ancestors, and if not could her magic disappear from her just like it appeared?
Harry was gone. The thought had echoed in her mind, and she thought back to the day it happened. She had been fighting with Alec Carrow at the time, and had turned her head to check on how Harry and Ron were doing. She saw the spell hit Harry, and a moment latter she was knocked to the ground by the spell Alec had thrown at her. She had scrambled up and ran to him, holding him in her arms and trying to convince herself I was all just a plan he hadn't told her about. Harry couldn't be dead, he just couldn't.
A crash pulled Hermione back into reality, and Hermione's head jerked towards the door. It sounded like a vase had fallen from the second floor and onto a wooden floor. Hermione brushed away the hot tears she hadn't realized were spilling down her cheeks and tried to look normal. Her eyes were most likely red, but she pulled open the door and stared out from behind it.
“Oh.” She said, seeing the broken vase from her room. It had been a beautiful vase, she had seen it and even remarked on it when she had first seen it. Her eyes traveled over to Mrs. Weasley, who had simply dropped the vase. Hermione stepped out from behind her door and repaired the vase, picking it up and settling it back on it's small table. Mrs. Weasley said something under her breath, and Hermione didn't quite catch it. She stared at the older woman questionably. “Is everything ok, Mrs. Weasley? Anything I can help you with?”
